Tanya M. Richmond, MSW, LCSW, brings over three decades of experience as a licensed clinical social worker, blending deep clinical expertise with a passion for person-centered practice. She is the owner and senior partner of Support Development Associates, LLC, and also runs a private therapy practice, Egret Feather, LLC.
As a Certified Death Doula, Tanya works alongside individuals and families to create thoughtful, empowering end-of-life experiences. Her work has spanned diverse populations, including older adults, children and families, individuals with mental and behavioral health needs, people who are deaf or hard of hearing, individuals with developmental disabilities, and survivors of sexual assault.
Tanya has held leadership roles across community and academic settings, including serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UNC Chapel Hill and directing the Jordan Institute’s CARES program. She is deeply engaged in advancing person-centered practices as a trainer, mentor, and former board chair of the International Learning Community for Person-Centered Practices.
A certified art therapy practitioner and Grove-certified graphic facilitator, Tanya has visually captured over 100 events through large-scale graphic recording. Her work is grounded in her interests in aging, end-of-life care, leadership, ethics, and research.
She earned her MSW and a BA in Psychology (with minors in Spanish, Anthropology, and Astronomy) from Louisiana State University. Tanya lives in Greensboro, NC, where she enjoys yoga, sewing, and creating intricate dollhouses.
