About me
Alex Elegudin is an accomplished accessibility professional and advocate with over a decade of experience in the disability community. After a life-changing spinal cord injury in 2003 he became a quadriplegic. Yet he persevered, graduated from Hofstra University Law School, and became an attorney. Recognizing the challenges faced by the disability community, he shifted to full-time disability advocacy. Throughout his career, Alex held influential positions, such as Accessibility Program Manager at the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission and Accessibility Chief at MTA New York City Transit, where he pushed for greater accessibility in transportation. Additionally, he worked as the Assistant Director for Campus Accessibility at Columbia University, striving for greater inclusivity for students with disabilities. Currently, Alex is an attorney and Project Director for the Postsecondary Readiness Project at Advocates for Children of NY, specializing in advocating for inclusive and accessible education, with a primary focus on transition planning and supporting students with disabilities as they prepare for post-school life. Alex Elegudin's unwavering commitment and extensive expertise make him a respected advocate in the field of accessibility and disability issues, dedicated to creating a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
