SUMMARY:Opening Keynote: Super HUMAN: Radical Humanity for an Artificially Intelligent World
DESCRIPTION:It's not that technology is advancing too quickly. It's that human skills are advancing too slowly. There's no big mystery as to why trust\, the #1 key to business\, is experiencing a crisis during the artificial age. People want something REAL - and if you don't give it to them\, then your competitors will.\nWhere there is human connection\, there is magic. Productivity improves in a way that science can't explain. Innovation strikes like lightning from a clear sky. Ordinary people transform into extraordinary teams. You don't have to wait or hope\, this can be built.\nJoin mentalist\, author\, and top-rated speaker Tim David for an interactive\, amazing\, science-based\, (and also HILARIOUS) program that helps participants experience how quickly authenticity\, empathy\, and trust can be built in teams using practical frameworks and action-items that can be applied immediately.\nIn this keynote\, Tim introduces the REAL Framework. To be REAL\, we must be…\nR — Radically Human: Present\, authentic\, vulnerable\, and human-firstE — Empathically Concerned: Replace assumptions with curiosity to reduce frictionA — Artistically Minded: Cultivate originality and creativity in a world of replicationL — Long-Term Focused: “People over profits” compounds trust over timeProgram Objectives:After engaging with this session\, participants will be able to…&nbsp\;Identify where “artificial connection” is eroding trust (meetings\, email/Slack\, hybrid dynamics) and choose one “Radically Human” behavior that immediately raises presence and credibility.Apply a simple empathy reset that replaces assumptions with curiosity—so collaboration speeds up and conflict de-escalates faster.Differentiate between “copy/paste work” and “artistry work\,” then implement a repeatable practice that increases originality and innovation (even in AI-saturated roles).Build a long-term “trust deposit” system—small\, consistent actions that compound reliability\, follow-through\, and culture over time.Adapt the REAL Framework to their specific context (leadership\, sales\, cross-functional teams\, member-based organizations) so the model becomes a shared language\, not a poster slogan.\n

SUMMARY:Technology 101: Integrating Technology Into Human Services
DESCRIPTION:As the world of human services changes\, it's more important than ever to deliver care that respects privacy\, safety\, and independence while keeping people connected to their communities. This presentation dives into the shift toward cutting-edge\, technology-driven care models that follow&nbsp\;CMS's Final Settings Rule. We'll explore why traditional group care falls short and how next-generation solutions can better serve semi-independent and vulnerable individuals.&nbsp\;\n\n Key topics include how remote and in-home support technologies are making it possible to deliver faster\, more flexible care\, even in hard-to-reach places. Attendees will learn 5 key characteristics of a strong technology partner in order to prepare for moving to next gen services. We’ll also share insight on GoodLife’s award-winning Neighborhood Network and Shared Living models\, which show how technology is not just improving care but changing lives for the better. Lastly\, we'll tackle the tricky balance between protecting privacy and meeting care needs\, and highlight how dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) play a crucial role in making this all work. With real-life examples and hands-on strategies\, we'll show how these new models don't just boost quality of life-they're also the future of a stronger\, more stable direct support workforce. This session is for anyone ready to push the limits and drive person-centered care with practical\, game-changing solutions.&nbsp\;\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Risk & Resilience: Lessons from High-Performing Behavioral Health Organizations
DESCRIPTION:This 75-minute moderated panel will bring together executive\, legal\, and risk advisory perspectives to explore what “high performance” looks like for behavioral health organizations in today’s oversight environment. As funding scrutiny intensifies and expectations evolve\, it’s no longer enough to deliver strong outcomes\; organizations increasingly carry the burden of proof to demonstrate sound governance\, effective internal controls\, and that they are responsible stewards of federal&nbsp\;and state funds. Panelists will discuss practical ways high-performing providers are strengthening accountability (from board oversight to operational controls)\, preparing for heightened federal and state attention\, and building resilience while navigating uncertainty in the funding landscape. Attendees will leave with peer-tested strategies they can adapt to their own organizations to sustain performance\, manage risk\, and stay audit-ready.\n&nbsp\;\nLearning Objectives:\n· &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Identify governance\, accountability\, and internal control practices that distinguish high-performing behavioral health organizations in today’s heightened oversight environment.\n· &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Translate real-world lessons into practical steps for improving oversight and resilience.\n· &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Understand how risk advisory functions (e.g.\, internal audit) can serve as strategic partners in transformation.\n

SUMMARY:The Inflection Point: Rethinking systems\, funding\, and purpose in a time of transformation
DESCRIPTION:The field isn’t just evolving—it’s hitting a true inflection point. You can feel it everywhere. The signals are clear\, the pressure is building\, and the question is no longer if change is coming—it’s whether we’re ready to meet it.\n This is a moment that demands more than incremental improvement. It calls for bold retooling\, deep restructuring\, honest reevaluation\, and full-scale reinvention. Even our language is lagging behind reality. “Community inclusion”? We’ve moved beyond that—it’s about meaningful engagement and affirmation. “Supports”? That framing no longer captures the complexity of today’s needs. Traditional funding models\, vacancy thinking\, Medicaid dependence—these are no longer sustainable foundations.\n Every industry faces moments like this—tipping points where markets shift\, expectations rise\, and systems must transform or fall behind. We’ve been here before. Early programs in the 1800s were dominant—until they weren’t. Institutions led—until they didn’t. ICF/MR models defined the field—until they no longer could.\n Now\, community-based systems are at their own crossroads.\n Leadership is changing. Boards are increasingly composed of business leaders rather than founding families. The needs are changing. De-institutionalization is no longer the driving force—today’s referrals often involve individuals with far more complex\, intensive support needs than our systems were designed to handle. And yet\, funding structures have not kept pace.\n At the same time\, the field faces one of its greatest vulnerabilities: an overwhelming reliance on Medicaid. This funding stream built the modern system—but no industry remains stable when over 90% of its revenue depends on a single\, increasingly uncertain source.\n Some organizations are already adapting—rethinking growth\, redefining their mission\, and expanding beyond traditional I/DD services to meet broader community needs. But the pace of change may not be fast enough.\n And we haven’t even begun to grapple with what’s coming next: the accelerating impact of technology and AI\, and how it will reshape everything from service delivery to workforce models.\n This session isn’t about small adjustments. It’s about reimagining what’s possible.\n We’ll challenge assumptions\, explore new frameworks\, and ask the question at the heart of it all:\n Can our system adapt quickly enough to meet the future—or will the future outpace us?\n\n

SUMMARY:Beyond Behavior: Trauma-Informed and Person-Centered Leadership for Supporting Aging Adults with IDD
DESCRIPTION:This interactive presentation is designed for executive leadership and upper management supporting adults with dual diagnoses of IDD and mental health challenges who are aging in group home settings. The session focuses on building a trauma-informed\, person-centered framework that strengthens organizational culture while equipping leaders with concrete tools they can bring back to front-line staff. Particular attention is given to the intersection of trauma\, aging\, intellectual and developmental disabilities\, and mental health—recognizing how cumulative life experiences\, loss\, and system involvement impact both the people receiving supports and the staff providing them.\nThe training introduces foundational trauma concepts—what trauma is\, how it affects the brain\, body\, and behavior\, and why it matters across the lifespan for people with IDD. Leaders will explore how trauma can be misunderstood as “behavior” or “decline\,” especially in aging adults\, and how person-centered approaches help shift the focus from functional levels to personal history\, preferences\, and meaning. Emphasis is placed on behavior as communication\, highlighting how everyday interactions\, routines\, and environments can either escalate distress or promote safety and regulation for people living in group homes.\nA core component of the session addresses trauma-informed leadership. Participants will examine how organizational practices\, supervision styles\, and responses to staff stress can either reinforce or reduce trauma—for both staff and the people they support. Leaders will learn how to guide teams in gathering and synthesizing person-centered information\, incorporating trauma considerations into person-centered plans\, and supporting staff when they personalize challenging situations. Real-world examples tailored to aging adults with IDD will illustrate how trauma-informed\, person-centered planning leads to more effective supports\, improved staff confidence\, and reduced burnout.\nThe session concludes with practical tools and strategies leaders can immediately apply with front-line teams. These include simple frameworks for coaching staff to interpret behavior through a trauma-informed lens\, questions leaders can model to shift conversations from “what’s wrong” to “what’s needed\,” and concrete ways to promote healing environments within residential settings. The presentation also introduces options for grief-informed supports—recognizing the impact of loss on both aging individuals and long-term staff—and highlights how therapeutic and reflective practices can be integrated into everyday supports. Participants will leave with actionable takeaways that support consistent\, compassionate\, and person-centered trauma-informed practice across their organization.\n\n\nLearning Objectives\nBy the end of this 1.5-hour session\, participants will be able to:\n1. Describe the impact of trauma across the lifespan for adults with IDD and co-occurring mental health conditions\, with specific attention to aging\, cumulative loss\, and long-term system involvement.\n2. Recognize behavior as communication and identify how trauma\, grief\, and unmet needs may present as behavioral or emotional changes in aging individuals living in group homes.\n3. Apply trauma-informed\, person-centered principles to leadership and planning\, shifting practice from function-based responses to supports rooted in individual history\, preferences\, and lived experience.\n4. Identify leadership strategies that reduce staff burnout and personalization\, including supervision approaches that normalize stress responses and support reflective practice.\n5. Utilize concrete tools and frameworks that executive and management staff can model and reinforce with front-line teams to strengthen trauma-informed\, person-centered supports where people live.\n\n

SUMMARY:Ethical Data Collection for Human-Centered Organizations
DESCRIPTION:Data collection is not just a technical process. It is a relationship-building process.\nIn this 75-minute session\, participants will learn how to design surveys and other data collection tools that are human-centric\, ethical\, inclusive\, and useful. The session will explore how organizations can collect data in ways that reduce harm\, build trust\, support better decisions\, and honor the people behind the responses.\nParticipants will leave with a practical understanding of what ethical data collection looks like in day-to-day work\, including how to ask better questions\, avoid extractive practices\, communicate clearly with participants\, and use data responsibly after it is collected.\n\n
